Still reeling from last weekend. Ha!
Killed it at the festival last weekend, and still haven't caught up on my sleep there. The first day (Friday) was a bit of a rocky start. Issues with water and electric hook-up. Luckily, I do enough festivals that the electricians all know my name and expedited my issues. I ended up having my 3rd highest sales ever on Saturday, for a festival. Since I am goal driven, that tickled me. On Sunday, the weather looked like rain and I was whipped, so I sent out my main driver in my place. Thank God for small things. It rained and the festival closed early. Everyone got a few extra hours sleep that night. Except me. I haven't been sleeping.
My dad had texted me the first day of the festival and told me that my step-mother passed away. If we are being honest, I have caught a lot of shit this week for not shutting the truck down when that happened. I don't have an explanation for why I didn't. I just didn't. My dad didn't need me to. He is in a bit of a state though. I have been there every day since, except last night.
Life continues to be a tricky balance. This morning, I am revolting work and staying home, but I have A LOT to catch up on. Heading to my mother's in a few to get her squared away for the weekend, then to get groceries for my dad, then to work on the truck tonight. Can we say need a vacay?
Oh, and Taco Tom did come over on Monday. I got a reward for my hard work and grief over the weekend. My son is house-sitting for my niece on her honeymoon. The quiet in the house is nice. I think I just need a few days of quiet and rest, but the truck doesn't really allow for that. Next week, I have an 8000 person event at a local hospital. It should be about 95 degrees outside for that. Wish me luck and hydration.
I had planned to be online most of the 10 days that my son is gone, but with my step-mom passing those plans have obviously changed. I'm just doing my best here. Thanks for continuing to bare with me.
Now head on over to CB and grab a video. I am still planning on being a snowbird this winter and your video purchase helps me secure that.
xoxo
